Valparaiso: luci, colori e odori. Ossang filma un noir saturo di tinte mai viste. Poliziesco referenziale (Malcolm Lowry, Jodorowski, ma pure Lang ed il Wenders ispirato) non esattamente limpido, tagliato in inquadrature mozzafiato. L'ambiente (interni Art Nouveau, esterni nella pianura, i porti, le montagne che incombono) s'integrano imperiosamente nell'azione. Primissimi piani dei protagonisti, iperrealisti, golosamente rubati. Musiche. Una somma al limite del grandiloquente; ma non necessariamente del formalismo gratuito.

A referential detective story (Malcolm Lowry, Jodorowski, but also Lang and the inspired Wenders) not exactly clear, cut into breathtaking shots. The environment (Art Nouveau interiors, outdoors on the plain, ports, looming mountains) is imperiously integrated into the action. Very close-ups of the protagonists, hyper-realistic, gluttonously stolen. Music. A sum bordering on the grandiloquent; but not necessarily on gratuitous formalism.
